Shop Lead 2nd Shift (Turbomachinery)**

**About the Role:**
Are you an experienced turbomachinery professional ready to lead, inspire, and make an impact? We are looking for a Shop Lead for our 2nd shift who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a keen eye for quality and safety. As the Shop Lead, you'll oversee the mechanical operations on turbomachinery components and assemblies, ensuring top-quality results and adherence to specifications. This role is crucial in keeping our operations efficient, compliant, and well-coordinated across shifts.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Leadership**: Guide and support all craft workers during the 2nd shift, including Balance, Machining, Mechanics, and Welding teams.
- **Shift Handover**: Provide clear, concise updates to 1st shift, outlining project status, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- **Technical Expertise**: Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble both OEM and non-OEM turbomachinery, including compressors, gearboxes, pumps, and turbines.
- **Shipping & Receiving**: Ensure timely shipments and deliveries, with hands-on responsibility for managing oversized items using overhead cranes and large forklifts. Maintain all shift shipping paperwork.
- **Precision Inspection**: Inspect and measure components against customer and industry specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
- **Balancing & Machining**: Apply basic knowledge of dynamic balancing and various machine setups for optimal operation.
- **Workflow Management**: Coordinate material movements and manage workload efficiently, reprioritizing as needed.
- **Safety & Organization**: Foster a culture of safety and maintain an organized, clean workspace, adhering to all safety policies.

**Qualifications & Skills:**
**Education:**
- High School Diploma/GED required; a post-secondary degree in a mechanical field is a plus.
**Experience & Technical Skills:**
- Expert knowledge of precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers) and proficiency in hydro/gas leak testing.
- Familiarity with OEM products (e.g., AC Compressor, Conmec, RMS) and ability to understand non-OEM rotating equipment.
- Experience with heavy equipment such as propane/acetylene torches, lifts, and pallet jacks.
**Leadership & Communication:**
- Proven ability to lead teams, coach, and mentor colleagues.
- Strong organizational and communication skills to interact with supervisors, teams, and customers.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Comfortable with standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, and performing physical tasks as part of the role.
- Willingness to work in an active, hands-on shop environment and handle materials like aluminum, copper, and steel.
