As one of the first hires, you will be a critical member of our team and will play a pivotal role in the growth and success of our company, while working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment that will challenge and inspire you. In this role, you will work as an early member of our manufacturing team to support the build of wire harness assemblies and improve the overall manufacturing process. You will also work closely with other engineers and technicians to design, develop, and iterate on the material process flow for the factory.
Salary parameters for this role are based on experience, with a base in the $130,000 to $180,000 range. In addition, we also offer equity participation and full benefits. This position is onsite and will be based at our company headquarters in the South Bay of Los Angeles County.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the manufacturing engineering team's projects, technical training, and overall direction.
- Team encompasses manufacturing engineers that oversee testing, work instruction generation, wire harness design, optimization of production flow, design of fixturing/tooling, customer management, and software implementation.
- Determine the highest priority items for factory to drive efficiency and begin to scale.
- Develop new processes with the Senra internal software team such as inventory management, machine integration, and automated work instructions.
- Plan and coordinate wire harness production and customer project priorities within the team.
- Act as a liaison between the factory floor and customers, addressing inquiries and providing updates on project status.
- Take on diverse roles within the factory, contributing to various tasks and projects as needed to support overall operations.
- Innovate and improve production processes by applying software solutions, identifying opportunities to scale production and enhance efficiency.
- Ensure the team is demonstrating proper ownership from working with a customer on technical questions and schedule, creating the proper work instructions, defining the best method to manufacture the product with software and machinery, and support production needs as they arise.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in an engineering or STEM-related field or 10+ years of hands on manufacturing experience
- Minimum 4 years overall engineering experience, with clear evidence of being a self-starter
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing team
- Minimum 2 year working in a fast paced production environment
- Minimum 2 year working in a manufacturing or supply chain position
- Have created project roadmaps and have had teams clearly execute to fast paced deadlines
- Has worked with NX, Solidworks, or similar CAD modeling tools
- Understands basic manufacturing principles such as material workflow, PFMEA, 5S, time studies, production bottlenecks, etc
- Ability to identify production blockers and have a solution oriented mindset to fix them
- Ability to look at a part that has never been manufactured before and determine the best path to build it and turn it into a high rate assembly
- Is, above all, a curious, quick, and ambitious learner
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with IPC-620 or NASA STD 8739.4
- Experience with aerospace and defense wire harness best practices
- Has worked at a contract manufacturing company
- Has hands on experience building the product itself
