The Lenexa manufacturing site makes a dry powder product, called cell culture media, which is used nationwide by pharmaceutical companies in the manufacture of human and animal pharmaceuticals. In this role, you will be working with Dried Powdered Media (DPM).
WHAT YOULL BE DOING:
Processing loading chemicals into large stainless-steel blenders, using an equipment operation interface to preblend/mill/postblend, monitoring automated processes, troubleshooting
Packaging prepping materials, packing out powder into containers (barrels, buckets, bottles etc.), palletizing filled containers
Cleaning breaking down/setting up equipment, hooking up hoses/piping using gaskets/clamps, spraying down rooms, loading equipment into parts-wash, operating and monitoring automated cleaning
Computer Use must have basic computer skills
Documentation the ability to read and write legibly/clearly/accurately in logbooks in English.
The process is standard, but each batch of powdered product is unique, and the length of manufacturing time will vary. Therefore, no two days are the same!
All job activities are performed indoors under temperature-controlled conditions

SCHEDULE INFORMATION:
Sigma manufacturing runs 24/7
Shifts are on a two-week shift pattern (weekend work is scheduled, every other weekend).
All new employees will be given their shift pattern for the remainder of the year on Day 1.
New temporary employees are required to attend two days of new hire training.
Day 1: Tuesday DAY shift, 8 am 4 pm
Day 2: Wednesday DAY shift, 8 am 4 pm
Day 3: Deploy to Team shift pattern either Thursday 7 pm 7:30 am or Friday 7 pm 7:30 am (if Friday, work the weekend)
ONBOARDING INFORMATION:
Onboarding and Clearance to Start All workers start on Tuesdays
Drug, background, and physical (see requirements below and onboarding clearance form) once complete send all results to the Randstad Program Office for clearance to start. May start with background pending all else must be complete and approved by the site before start.
PHYSICAL: Pre-employment
Qualitative Mask Fit Test (Conservative Care supplies the necessary masks)
Spirometry
SAFC job function ability testing (lift test)
Basic Health History, Vitals, Basic Vision. Dipstick Urinalysis
Suppliers will need to set up billing and have contractors go and ask for the Sigma Pre-Employment Physical package. Set up billing now; ensure no bill is sent to EMD. The Site uses Conservative Care for Physicals.
All new hires need to have their Physicals and 5-panel Drug screening done at Conservative Care. New Hire needs an appointment within 24 hours of offer acceptance. They can also drop in to Conservative Care if there arent any appointments within the required time.
1. Mandatory Action Initiate all onboarding screenings within 24 hours of offer acceptance
2. Instruct New Hires to make an appointment within 24 hours with Conservative Care.
3. Supplier is to follow up with New Hire to confirm that it has been completed
4. Supplier obtains a copy of reports (redact PPI) and sends it to the MSP Specialist
5. The client is watching onboardings very closely and will make a note of any excessive delays or delayed response
6. Friday at noon EST is the cut-off for a Tuesday start. All updates including the status for each component of the onboarding must be sent to the MSP Specialist without the Specialist continuing to ask for the mandatory onboarding information.
