Do you have a passion for health and safety in a manufacturing setting? In manufacturing safety should always be the top priority. We are actively hiring a Manufacturing Safety Coordinator to help foster a safe and healthy workplace.
Essential Job Functions
- Oversee administration and distribution of selected protective equipment or safety devices for machines
- Assist in the design and implementation of safety and health programs to prevent, correct, and/or control unsafe and noncompliant conditions
- Investigate accidents to determine causes and how to prevent such accidents in the future
- Plan and test emergency systems and procedures to ensure proper preparation
- Review and evaluate new and existing operations to identify and resolve any safety and issues in manufacturing processes
- Perform Hazard Analysis' on new and existing operations to identify and resolve any safety issues in manufacturing processes.
- Experience with LOTO is desired
- Eliminate or control hazardous conditions resulting from human error, equipment and machine operations that may lead to human injury and/or property damage
- Train employees on Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, such as, but not limited to, forklifts, lockout-tagout, personal protective equipment, and blood-borne pathogens
- Conduct safety audits and advise management on safety issues observed
- Maintain all necessary legal required documentation such as OSHA required documentation
- Complete related documentation and reports
- Follow standard work instructions
- Support Incident Corrective Action completion with all necessary departments
- Support all department planned activities and targets
- Coordinate information and tracking results with other Futaba North American plants
- Perform Health & Safety training for orientation including a safety floor walk
- Perform other duties as assigned
Other Job Functions
- Comply with FIC's Safety policies and procedures
- Comply with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 procedures and standards
- Perform 5-S activities
- 2+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment or related education
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations, gained through experience or education is preferred
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Must have proficient oral and written communication skills
- Must be willing to cross-train
- Must comply with FIC's Attendance and Punctuality Policy
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification preferred
