HYMH is seeking a Manufacturing Trainer II. This position will be responsible for building and sustaining a continuous improvement culture throughout a manufacturing plant and for ensuring manufacturing employees are trained to perform the duties of their respective jobs. The Trainer will make recommendations to improve productivity, quality, profitability, and the efficiency of operations in order to: meet safety standards; produce quality products; meet production volume demands; and adhere to requirements of the Certified Manufacturing Process. This role will train employees on Lean tools, plan and facilitate Kaizen events, monitor performance/improvement targets, and execute continuous improvement projects.

The successful Manufacturing Trainer will have the following Key Accountabilities:
- Employee Training and Development
- Develop training materials pertaining to MFG processes such as LEAN methodologies.
- Coordinate and deliver designated MFG training programs such as Quality, DFT, Kanban, AS400, Safety, and New Hire Orientation.
- Work closely with external training partners to ensure smooth delivery and a positive learning atmosphere.
- Continuous Improvement
- Design and optimize training for manufacturing processes that support the improvement of existing products and the introduction of new ones.
- Facilitate waste reduction (i.e. LEAN) initiatives through formal Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) events.
- Develop, track and report on metrics measuring the success derived from Kaizen events.
- Implement and update Value Stream Maps.
- Investigate and recommend technology and/or process changes to facilitate cost savings and continuous capacity improvement.
- Engage with stakeholders on issues both routine and complex, in order to identify and implement improvement opportunities for both safety and efficiency.
- Assist in the implementation and the sustainability of the 5S + Safety program, both in the office and in the manufacturing areas.
- Iterate and adapt learning solutions based on changes in the business and employee needs.
- Supporting the Business and Expertise
- Partner with business leaders to proactively assess and communicate a range of Learning & Development solutions.
- Explicitly connect learning outcomes to business, personal and career outcomes.
- Monitor participant comprehension, alter the pace of instruction accordingly, and identify areas where additional coaching is needed.
- Enable the learner across all learning experiences, going beyond the facilitation of individual programs.
- Attend pertinent MFG industry and/or LEAN training and seminars.
- Maintain ongoing understanding of trends in learning and MFG technology.
- Use assessment of internal and external learning trends to inform learning recommendations.
The successful Manufacturing Trainer will have the following Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or Technical Degree (preferred) or 10 years of Manufacturing Operations experience.
- 2+ years’ experience in Training/Learning & Development field (in a manufacturing setting is preferred)
- 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing operations
- DFT/Training Principles
- Manufacturing, technical and product knowledge
- Safety in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working in Microsoft Office Suite, to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
- Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and effectively, to include face to face, phone, written, and presentation
- Training Facilitation
- Mechanical knowledge/aptitude
