Responsible for developing OIAs market access vision, strategy and solutions for its members and prospective agency members. Responsibilities
Mission-Critical Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set the vision and strategic plan for OIA market access initiatives.
- Manages OIAs existing market access solutions.
- Primary contact for all market access questions from OIA members, stakeholders and company partners.
- Monitors insurance industry news for marketplace, access, capacity, losses, profitability, underwriting practices, appointments, and other activity related to market availability for OIA members.
- Create content, draft articles and agent guides on marketplace issues, carrier appointment process, networks, alliances and other market access options for insurance agents.
- Helps identify, plan, and execute professional development webinars for members in various areas as needed, such as marketplace updates, carrier appointments and other agent-carrier issues.
- Serves in an advisory capacity to the marketing and communications department on messaging to various audiences, including members and the media.
- Liaison with network partners and national organizations for market access initiatives and solutions.
- Performs any other related duties as required or assigned, including proofing and editing.
Requirements
Education and Experience: A bachelors degree in business, risk management and insurance, finance, or a related business field from an accredited university. Must have a broad knowledge of the insurance industry, P&C and L&H markets, Ohio insurance marketplace, market access platforms and other distribution solutions.
Other Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to read, analyze, and understand common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to complex or challenging inquiries or complaints from customers, staff, regulatory agencies, or business community members.
- Ability to publicly speak about market access issues for insurance agencies.
- Ability to develop a strategic plan, accountability metrics, and vision for the market access initiatives of the organization.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various known variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret written, oral, or diagram instructions.
