Merit Coffee Marketing Assistant and Special Events Coordinator
Job Description: Merit is seeking a highly motivated and energetic person to fill the position of Marketing Assistant and Special Events Coordinator. This newly created role will work alongside the Merit Coffee Marketing Team to help build our business throughout Texas. This entry-level marketing position offers a fun and challenging opportunity to work in the growing artisanal coffee industry with one of Texas’ most respected coffee roasters.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Administration:
· Support the Marketing Team with daily and weekly marketing administration tasks. Some primary tasks include:
o Daily monitoring and management of all Merit Coffee customer inquiries for Merit’s ecomm, wholesale and café businesses, plus donation requests and other general questions.
o Analytical Support: this position will be called upon to pull various sales data, across all of Merit’s business units and be able to format and create spreadsheets that accurately show relevant trends, opportunities, or issues. Also, inventory analysis for our merchandise will be a key component of the analytical support function.
· Assist the Merit Marketing Manager with various ad-hoc workflow initiatives, such as social media, email campaigns, package design projects and merchandise development.
Special Events:
· Comprehensive management of all Merit Coffee events throughout the calendar year. This includes:
o Coordinating all logistics and execution of Merit Coffee events such as Coffee Festivals, Café Events and Grocery Tastings/Demonstrations.
o Acting in a professional manner as the Merit Coffee Brand Ambassador during all events and community engagements.
o Monitor and respond to special events and donation requests and tasks.
Traits and Qualifications:
· Well-qualified candidates will be proficient in Microsoft Suite, with a heavy emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
· This person should be highly organized and a self-starter with a healthy sense of urgency and a professional demeanor.
· Must reside in San Antonio, Texas and office at the Merit Headquarters
· Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel throughout the state – with trips to Dallas, Houston and Austin every quarter.
· Knowledge of gourmet/artisanal coffee is a plus, but not required.
