SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for managing the Marketing Department in order to support customer sales/service activities and profitable market penetration; implementing strategies to achieve goals developed for the department as part of the bank's annual operating plan; insuring the department's compliance with operating policies and procedures and outside regulatory requirements; organizing the work, activities, and human resources of the department; directly supervising assigned personnel; communicating with appropriate management and staff personnel; providing periodic reports
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Manages the Marketing Department in order to support customer sales/service activities and profitable market penetration as follows:
- Oversees the marketing "mix," i.e. product, price, place, promotion.
- Analyzes new marketing developments which may be useful in the bank's marketing/sales plan; researches, tests, and introduces to the public new marketing ideas in order to assess the degree to which the bank is satisfying customer needs.
- Researches, conceptualizes, creates and implements marketing and public relations programs that will promote all services and products and favorably project the bank's image and goals.
- Coordinates and assists in the development of the bank's annual marketing/sales plan.
- Acts a spokesperson for the bank in public media relations; prepares press releases.
2. Implements strategies to achieve goals assigned to the department as established in the bank's annual operating plan; assists in the development of the annual budget for the department and adheres to budget parameters.
3. Organizes the work and activities of the Marketing Department in order to achieve established goals, monitors the efficiency and performance of the department versus established standards.
4. Works with Commercial Services Market Manager and Investment & Trust Services Market Manager to develop and implement various marketing programs for retention, penetration, and growth of customer/client base.
5. Directly supervises assigned personnel as follows:
- Assists in the selection of new personnel as appropriate.
- Makes provisions for the proper orientation and training of new personnel.
- Reviews employee performance throughout the probationary period and on a regularly scheduled basis thereafter.
- Organizes, schedules, and distributes work among assigned personnel.
- Keeps personnel informed of pertinent policies and procedures affecting the department and/or their jobs; creates an atmosphere in which upward communication from employees is encourages.
- Administers personnel policies and procedures as established by bank policy.
6. Communicates with the President & CEO, Regional Market Managers, other department managers, and appropriate staff personnel in order to integrate goals and activities.
7. Provides periodic reports to the President & CEO and other groups as required.
8. Participates as a member of the senior management team to influence corporate direction in order to achieve maximum long-term profitability and shareholder value.
9. Provides support in shareholder communications and relations.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
A B.S. or B.A. degree in a related field of study or equivalent knowledge; specialized bank marketing education and training.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of three (3) years' experience in related positions normally required.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficiency in interpreting, analyzing, and reporting financial information; knowledge of current bank regulations; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; proficient computer skills; demonstrated management and supervisory skills. Must possess a valid driver's license
