ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES ***(Employees are held accountable for all duties of this job)
- Supports content creation for member and potential member communications.
- Uses Salesforce Marketing Cloud to design and deliver member communications as directed by Communications and Brand Manager.
- Creates and posts on-brand content on GSCO social media channels to elevate brand, enhance Girl Scout experience, and promote upcoming events in partnership with the Media and Engagement Manager.
- Works atypical schedule to accommodate event coverage and social media coverage.
- Assists with Media Star program and internal influencer program.
- Works in-person at least 30 hours per week at Girl Scout DreamLab and/or Girl Scout Retail Shop. Remaining 10 hours per week are worked at home office or event coverage.
- Supports Girl Scout DreamLab events promotions through flier creation and distribution, EventBrite, community calendar postings, and event coverage.
- Cross-trained to support retail in DreamLab Boutique and Girl Scout Retail Shop.
- Greets and assists customers at Girl Scout Retail Shop. Creates customer profile if not already in the system and rings up merchandise for customers.
- Assists with promotion of Girl Scouts of Colorado e-Commerce site.
- Pulls online, email, and phone orders at GSCO Retail Shop and assists with packaging and shipping orders.
- Serves as backup for social media monitoring and management.
- Assists in the management, writing and editing of engaging content, including video content, for the council website, social media channels, and blog.
- Photographs, writes articles and stories, and produces video content about council statewide programs initiatives and events.
- Uses Adobe Creative Suite and Canva to design graphics, advertisements, infographics, fliers and other materials as needed for all channels including interactive digital design.
- Ensures Girl Scouting is open and available to all girls and adults by consistent delivery of the Girl Scouts message of pluralism and diversity throughout the community.

PRIMARY CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- In accordance with the philosophy of Girl Scouts of Colorado, the person filling this position may occasionally be required to carry out or assist with other tasks in addition to the duties listed on this job description.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Formal Training
- Bachelor's degree or associate degree in public relations, marketing, communications, journalism or related field preferred. Related work experience can be substituted.
Experience
- Demonstrated writing, editing, social media planning experience required.
- Demonstrated experience using Adobe Creative Suite.
- Retail experience a plus
- Non-profit experience a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of principles of member communications and strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- A creative eye with strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
- Proficient in photography using smartphone.
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
Additional Requirements
- Responsible for transporting materials weighing up to 30 pounds from a vehicle to a building.
MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED
- Computer and related software.
- Use of smartphone frequently during the day.
- Extensive use of computer workstation.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- The job is hybrid and is carried out in-person at Girl Scout DreamLab or Retail Shop for 30 hours per week and from a home office with heavy computer use.
- Council events are usually held off-site on evenings and weekends.
- Some travel required for council programs or major media events.
- Access to transportation with insurance at required state levels to conduct business statewide.
- Valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to the Girl Scout insurance company.
