Marketing Consultant - Senior
Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Marketing Consultant for a contract position in Chicago, IL. The opportunity will be one year with a strong chance for a long-term extension.
Position Summary: The selected candidate would be accountable for providing day-to-day operational and coordination support for both internal and external events across all Lines of Business. These events are highly visible and involve clients as well as senior-level executives. The role involves registration management, onsite execution, sourcing internal and external vendors/suppliers, and venue research & negotiations/contracting. Must represent the organization with professionalism, courtesy, and integrity. The candidate would be joining a well-established collaborative team. The selected candidate will be working closely with multiple stakeholders. There are regular team calls, weekly/biweekly check-ins, and training and mentoring with colleagues. The right candidate has a possibility of extension, and/or being converted to a permanent employee.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Delivery of consistently great client experiences through expertly managed events and meetings
- Execution for internal & external conferences and events of cross-border groups
- Develop and manage event calendars and Cvent need
- Provide guidance and advice to clients on proper event logistics & details, based on objectives
- Manage executives and clients as they participate in events and conferences
- Manage and work with colleagues and employees through meetings, events, and conferences
- Provide administrative and shared service support roles around online registration management, tracking office administration and onsite event support staff as requested
- Assist in creating synergies between Canada and U.S. Event-Based Marketing Team
- Responsible for ensuring that standards are applied to all conferences and events
- Responsible for quality control of conferences and events
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years work experience in event management/coordination
- Candidate must be able to travel around the US and to Canada
- Professional polish and ability to interact with senior executives and clients
- Team player, motivated and committed, self-starter and quick learner, confident, assertive
- Flexibility and ability to work in ambiguity and under pressure, as well as handle multiple projects simultaneously and resolve conflicts on site
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Possess ability to manage and establish relationships with a large volume of stakeholders (internal and external clients, vendors/suppliers, etc.)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Creative problem solver with the ability to negotiate as required
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Cvent knowledge and experience preferred
- University degree is preferred
Preferred:
- Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), member of Meeting Professionals International (MPI), or other event designation considered strong asset
- Extroverted personality type, and comfortable with face-to-face interactions
- Previous event management experience with Financial Institutions or corporate environments
