BWXT is currently seeking a Master Black Belt for its Erwin, TN location!  

Job Description/Duties:

• Coordinate with site leadership to identify and prioritize targeted areas of opportunity for eliminating waste and reducing variation.
• Facilitate strategic planning and project selection sessions with site management.
• Lead highly visible and complex process improvement projects.
• Motivate and direct cross-functional teams to desired results through skillful application of the LSS principles, methodologies, and tools.
• Provide technical guidance and support.
• Mentor Master Black Belts, Black Belts, Green Belts, and Yellow Belts through certification.
• Provide independent reviews for Black Belt certifications.
• Provide feedback during dry runs and attend project report-outs.
• Design, develop, and deliver training to support the LSS deployment.
• Estimate soft/hard benefits (COPQ) for a variety of process improvement projects.

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

• Minimum of a bachelor degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of related experience. 
• Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification or equivalent.
• Must have demonstrable experience as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt with a strong track record.
• Demonstrable change management expertise and ability to influence and gain commitment at all organizational levels.
• Must be a talented facilitator with experience leading a variety of teams and the ability to build positive working relationships.
• Successful leadership experience coaching, teaching, and mentoring others.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Functional experience in multiple disciplines such as engineering, manufacturing, quality, project management.
• Proven ability to drive change; be results oriented; have strong business acumen, excellent communication skills and strong technical aptitude; be team oriented.
• U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
• Ability to report to work at an assigned office location in Barberton, OH. This position does not include a remote work option.

Benefits:

The Master Black Belt will work a 9/80 work week while receiving market leading pay, discretionary paid time off, paid winter holiday shutdown, educational refund plan, medical, dental, vision and service-based retirement contributions with additional 401k match.

The base salary range for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $128,000 and $189,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
