Company Overview:
Without direct supervision, the Material Control Specialist II performs and may coordinate a variety of material control duties including receiving, shipping, stocking, picking, and related data entry. This role involves driving a 26' box truck and requires a current driver's license (CDL not required), and forklift operation experience.
Responsibilities:Typical Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Loading, off-loading, shipping, and receiving of materials, including large semi-trucks, UPS/FedEx pick-ups and deliveries, etc.
- Verifying count and condition of materials
- Processing transactions on a PC or handheld computer
- Packing items for shipment
- Coordinating with freight companies or supply vendors
- Picking materials for Assembly
- Performing cycle counts
- Performing daily clean-up and recycling of materials
- Operating powered and non-powered industrial equipment
- Performing deliveries utilizing By Light vehicles, including Sprinter van and 26’ box truck
- May be asked to coordinating activities of coworkers or train new employees.
- Performing other duties as directed
Qualifies as an MC Specialist I, plus:
- Three years of experience working in a warehouse performing 80% of the tasks listed above.
- Experience with computerized ERP systems to perform warehouse functions.
- Stand-up forklift (i.e., reach lift) experience.
- Must have a current driver’s license (CDL not required)
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends.
- Some demonstrated leadership skills (as a lead, trainer, or coordinator).
- Experience working with government inventory,
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with MS Excel and Word.
- Pass an informal test on a reach lift.
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs
- Must be able to work while standing for extended periods of time
