Material Handler-Driver - Johnson Service Group

Johnson Service Group is looking for a Material Handler/Driver for one of our Clients in Milpitas.  They will perform Material Handler duties in a manufacturing environment.  They will handle receiving of parts, verifying count and ensuring parts are in good condition, storing parts in Warehouse, kitting parts for jobs on manufacturing line.  Delivering and picking up parts from vendors/clients.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Driver is responsible for following the best practices for safety, both on the road and while loading or unloading Company vehicles.
• Driver is expected to perform vehicle check for proper operation and perform vehicle visual walk-through or inspection including maintaining the cleanliness before and after use. Report any finding to the Facilities, Supervisor or Warehouse Manager.
• Driver is expected to ensure the gas is full in vehicles, and when needed, fill up and obtain receipt.
• Driver logs the information on the Delivery Log in use. Gas receipts must be turned in to Supervisor for record purpose.
• Driver must communicate clearly with team members regarding any type of pick-up and or delivery in order to meet deadline but not commit directly to Customer’s request for any type of delivery or pick-up.
• Attend production meetings.
• Update required reports as needed.
• Performs manual and clerical duties such as receiving, storing, and issuing materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
• Will be trained to receive materials, checks against documentation for completeness, identification, and quantity.
• Sorts, Counts, checks received goods, raw materials, finished or semi-finished parts and subassemblies.
• Issues materials, supplies components and parts from stock.
• Will be trained to stock kits for production departments and verifies, counts, or documents any shortages.
• Prepares shortage documentation and reviews status of shortages, back-order files, and inventory status reports.
• Interface and support internal/external customers (production, quality, engineering, small carriers, trucking companies, etc.)
• Ships products and other items as required.
• Delivers or picks up items to customer or supplier locations as required.
• Other miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

Qualifications Required/Job Specifications:

• Preparing activity reports and other data input as required.
• High school Diploma or GED equivalence
• Or minimum of (2) years of material handling experience or equivalent
• Previous Forklift experience preferred.  Specifically Stand up Reach Forklift
• Possess a high level of integrity in handling confidential and sensitive information.
• High attention to detail
• Have and maintain a ‘clean’ driving record

Pay rate: $21/hr.
