Responsibilities / Tasks
- Read work orders or follow oral instructions to determine the materials or containers to be moved.
- Load and unload materials by hand onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves.
- Convey materials from storage areas or work sites to designated areas within the facility.
- Accurately count, weigh, and record the number of units of materials moved or handled on a daily production sheet.
- Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, boxes, or other containers for tracking purposes.
- Stack or assemble materials into bundles, securing them with bands as necessary.
- Lift heavy objects manually or with the assistance of a power hoist for delivery to the shop floor.
- Operate industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in the loading or movement of materials and products.
Your Profile / Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 3 months to 1 year of experience in material handling or a related field, forklift experience required.
- Skills: Strong computer skills are essential.
Physical Demands:
- The role requires the ability to lift heavy objects, either manually or with equipment. Reasonable accommodations can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Work Environment:
- The work environment involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasionally working in high, precarious places. The employee must adhere to all safety protocols.
