Salary: $110,000-$140,000 based off experience
Role & Responsibilities
A Materials Engineer is primarily responsible for technical oversight and quality management of materials laboratory, field materials testing and special inspection operations. This includes regular and effective communication with leadership, project managers, technical staff, clients, and governing regulatory agencies. In addition, a Materials Engineer will serve as a senior staff member in charge of assuring technical excellence, staff development, and attention to risk management and loss prevention activities. They will be assigned to every active project in the firm (as the Senior Project Manager or Technical Supervisor) and in that role, will be a developer or contributor to the scope, fee and satisfactory completion and delivery of the project. Will be expected to sign / co-sign appropriate CSD deliverables. Specific duties include:
• Technical correctness and quality task completion for responsible projects
• Timely scope and fee monitoring and modification.
• Scheduling resources AND conflict management
• Capturing and promoting future work
• Contracts and Contract performance
• Technical input (scoping) and technical project performance (in and out of home-group projects). Includes primary duty for assisting in scoping of projects and review of contract terms.
• Risk Management/Deliverables review
• End-of-line Project Performance (quality and content of deliverables and profitability of services)
• Client management including regular contact (during and between project assignments), assurance of satisfaction, problem resolution and contract/fee changes.
• Business Development/Company Ambassador including documenting opportunities and providing pipeline activity updates
• Project procurement including mutual work-scope negotiation with client (and with Senior Professional concurrence), fee, schedule and performance criteria.
• Project performance including budget, schedule, all follow-up, and Client satisfaction
