Summary Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a Materials Expediter (Handler). Duty Location: Folsom, California Responsibilities Facilitating movement of materials and supplies in accordance with project objectives, scheduling requirements, and/or space allocation plans. Operating forklifts, stake-bed trucks, standard pickup trucks, enclosed box vans, passenger vehicles, and various types of material handling, banding, and packaging equipment. Receiving, sorting, tagging, and routing the movement of a variety of maintenance equipment and building materials among multiple operational areas and facilities. Reviewing inventory lists to identify stock replenishment needs for projected workloads. Reporting unresolved material shortages in accordance with recommended stock quantities. Monitoring working condition of tools, equipment, and machinery used by warehouse operations and shop facilities personnel. Rearranging stocking locations or configurations to maximize storage efficiency. Examining items received to verify part numbers, stock numbers, and other data pertaining to the identification of items to specific projects. Ensuring compliance with established workplace safety laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Performing other related duties as assigned within this classification. Requirements Conditions of Employment You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National. You must be suitable for federal employment, as determined by a background investigation. You must obtain and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license, as the position requires operation of vehicles on government installations and public roads. Failure to maintain a valid state-issued driver's license may result in removal from the position. You will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination by an agency-approved licensed physician certifying your ability to perform the duties of this position. The cost of the exam will be reimbursed by the agency. This position is designated as a LOW-RISK public trust position. It requires a fully completed and favorably adjudicated SF85 Background Investigation (T1 or equivalent) that is current (within the last 5 years). This is a condition of employment. Must possess or obtain an OSHA forklift certification. The position involves duties to be performed on hard surfaces in areas that require standing, stooping, and bending in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries supplies, materials, and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds. Heavier items are moved with weight handling equipment or by means of assistance from other workers. Work is performed indoors and outdoors in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lighted. Incumbent may be exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, falls, and other injuries inherent in a warehouse environment. In certain work situations involving hazardous materials, incumbent must wear protective clothing, respirators, and other specialized protective devices, in addition to their basic protective equipment (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, safety shoes, and earplugs). When performing driving duties, the employee operates vehicles in a variety of traffic and weather conditions on public roads (or equivalent). This may involve heavy traffic conditions, varied highway speeds, complicated roads and interchanges, and possible exposure to serious accidents. Qualifications Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard for the WG-6900 Warehousing and Stock Handling Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet the screen-out element(s) listed and show that you possess the experience and demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of the position for which you are applying. Emphasis of requirements is on the quality of related experience, not necessarily the length of time.
