Materials Science & Engineering Co-Op - Novelis Global R&T

The Novelis Global R&D team at Kennesaw seeks a Materials Science and Engineering Co-op. The person in this role will report to the Senior Scientist in Metallurgy. The ideal candidate will be responsible for computational alloy design, advanced materials characterization and properties testing, as well as processing development. This position will provide insights into the alloys’ structural and compositional evolution throughout the processing steps for better performance.This role will begin in May 2025 and end in December 2025.

Responsibilities:

• Design aluminum alloys through integrated computational materials engineering.
• Test various mechanical and formability properties of Al alloys.
• Perform advanced materials characterization, including experiment design, sample preparation, data collection, and post-analysis.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS. in Materials Science and Engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

• PHD. in Materials Science and Engineering
