Mazama High School Girls Assistant Basketball Coach - KLAMATH COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic JV2 Girls Basketball Coach to lead and develop our junior varsity team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a positive and competitive environment for young athletes, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement effective practice plans and game strategies.
• Teach fundamental basketball skills and techniques to athletes.
• Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, hard work, and sportsmanship.
• Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and staff.
• Monitor and assess athletes’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Coordinate with the Athletic Director and other coaches for scheduling and logistics.
• Ensure compliance with all KCSD and OSAA regulations and requirements.

Qualifications:

• Previous coaching experience at the high school or youth level preferred.
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals and coaching techniques.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
• Commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.

Requirements:

• Must pass a background check and drug test.
• Completion of all KCSD (Klamath County School District) and OSAA (Oregon School Activities Association) requirements prior to working with athletes.
• Availability for practices and games during the season.

This position is contingent upon sufficient player numbers and program viability.
