Sunshine Disposal & Recycling is looking for a Diesel Mechanic I. This job has a bonus of $500 after completion of 6 months of employment and an additional $1,000 after completion of 12 months. This is a full time job Monday-Friday 8:00am- 4:30pm. Job Duties:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential duties/responsibilities listed below.

1. Conducts preventative maintenance of all SDR trucks and equipment. This includes daily inspecting, greasing and basic maintenance for road worthiness and effective use on routes and at various locations.
2. Prepares and completes paperwork or computer data entry for all service and repair work for documentation and record keeping purposes. This includes maintenance issues documented during pre and post trip truck inspections. Ensures all records are compliant with Dept. of Transportation rules and company policies.
3. Performs repairs and/or maintenance on trucks and equipment in the following areas: hydraulics, cylinders, brake repair, and electrical systems, engines and body (may include welding).
4. Performs service on vehicles and equipment at predetermined intervals in accordance with company policies, manufacturer specifications and any/all applicable local, state, and federal guidelines/regulations.
5. Performs all other duties and special projects for management team members as assigned.
6. Attends all necessary meetings as scheduled including safety, training and other company scheduled meetings.

Completion of Diesel Mechanic education program

OR 3 years experience in full service Diesel repair shop

CDL Class B required. Class A Preferred.

USDOT medical Certificate (med card) required

Subject to drug screening as required by USDOT or company policy

Must complete other safety and skills training when scheduled by the company

Compensation details: 30-30.25 Hourly Wage
