Position Summary:
The primary job responsibilities of the Mechanic is to be responsible and accountable for providing quality mechanical repairs and maintenance work up to their level of certification, utilizing all resources available within the shop area. The Mechanic will provide ongoing fleet maintenance operations to include all emergency repairs and roadwork necessary. The primary objective of the Mechanic is to provide a safe, qualified shop environment while being available to answer questions both to the field personnel and supervisors. Must provide their own tools. Vehicle computers and diagnostics equipment is provided.

Responsibilities:
The Mechanic may be assigned one or more duties. These duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide general mechanical duties with the ability to Properly diagnose vehicles to find the root of the problem.
- Assists cooperate Fleet Manager with vehicle lifecycle monitoring, mileage reports, and recalls from the manufactures for our fleet.
- Coordinate operations with regulatory agencies to meet all state and local requirements for vehicles and shop facility maintenance operations.
- Conduct new product evaluations.
- Provide training and direction to personnel on the use of safety equipment, use of tire chains, and general preventative maintenance procedures.
- Communicate with field personnel in response to inquiries, investigating vehicle mechanical failures both from the filed crews or within our fleet management program.
Additional Duties:
The Mechanic may be assigned one or more additional duties. These duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist with the completion of appropriate forms and reports that are not considered essential functions.
- Inventory and request needed supplies to perform department tasks.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.

- Strong ability to be self-motivated, plan work schedules and daily maintenance tasks, and operate in an environment with limited maintenance oversight.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals, teams, managers, supervisors, and external customers. Excellent ability to communicate and work cohesively across Department lines.
- Must have the ability to consistently deliver outstanding customer service to all internal and external customers.
- Strong organization skills and attentiveness to detail.
- Ability to maintain a professional manner and appearance. Satisfactory driving record in accordance with Company Driving Policy.
- Current state driver’s license.
Education Requirements:
The individual in this position must possess the following education requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) series A, 1-9 certification preferred
