Position: Supervisor/Assembly Lead
Location: San Diego, CA.
Salary: Open depending on experience
Job Description and Primary Requirements:
Supervisor of production machine assembly operations to schedule jobs and activities for each production machine in build including labor resources, build sequence, establishing assembly area including tooling, supplies, build books and assembly drawings. Interfacing with Purchasing for part dates, reworks, materials, etc. Interfacing with engineering design for fixes, improved build sequences, manufacturing process and requirements
Requirements:
· STRONG “MECHANICAL” SKILLS from a mechanical manufacturing, production, or machine shop environment
· Small company experience and ability to wear multiple hats
· Excellent problem-solving skills
· Strong organization and supervisory skills.
Experience Preference:· Assemble machinery from drawings, Solidworks model, Build books or description of parts; to be assembled using basic hand tools and small power tools, both electric and pneumatic.
· Experience building and repairing cars a plus
· Maintain safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Responsibilities include:
· Experience in identifying mechanical components; and to perform required mechanical and final machine assembly for schedule requirements
· Familiar with manufacturing processes, machine shop practices, and assembly methods
· Familiar with standard materials used in machinery building, such as metals, plastics, etc.
· Familiar with drilling, tapping, layouts of holes, and other basic assembly functions
· Ability to read and understand engineering documents (blueprints, drawings, schematics, BOM, and manufacturing process instructions)
· Actively participates in the design evaluation process of new products.
· Generate RED LINE Drawing and BOM as required
· Ability to analyze component construction, measuring, identifying materials and documenting formal designs.
· Ability to troubleshoot production issues and write work instructions
· Has understanding to use in-house inspection measurement instruments, including: scales, calipers, micrometers, height gage, microscope, comparator, surface plate, gages, etc.
· Must maintain a safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
· Possesses a positive “can-do” attitude, works effectively, demonstrates persistence and moves consistently towards goals, having a solid work ethic that results in consistent accomplishment, and dependability
· Ability to work effectively in a team environment
· Excellent English written and verbal communications skills
· Ability to use hand tools, power tools (both electric and pneumatic), and precision tools.
· Pneumatic and basic electrical knowledge
· Work entails reaching, pulling, standing most of the shift, stooping, and must be able to lift 50 lbs.
· Stable work record with verifiable references
· Ability to pass a drug and background check
· Must have valid California Driver’s License with good DMV record
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent
· 5+ years as a mechanical assembler/machinist
Preferred Qualifications
· Comfortable in Word & Excel
· Good written communications
· Machining and Fabrication experience is a plus
· Effective communication skills and team player mentality
