Staff Mechanical Designer (MEP)
North St. Paul, MN | 6-month Contract | $45.00-$65.00/hr | 100% On-Site
Konik is partnering with an engineering services firm to bring in a Staff Mechanical Designer on a 6-month contract. This role involves handling complex and technically demanding tasks within their area of engineering expertise. The Staff Designer will be responsible for designing specific parts of a project, contributing directly to the team's success.
Staff Mechanical Designer (MEP) Responsibilities
- Enter data into pre-defined computer programs.
- Utilize computer software to generate reports or perform calculations.
- Contribute to the design of project components.
- Conduct research on vendor and supplier websites to identify available equipment.
- Recommend appropriate equipment based on product research.
- Collaborate with sales representatives to gather specific equipment details.
- Draft original design drawings.
- Perform technical analysis under guidance.
- Review existing CAD drawings and design applications to assess current equipment.
- Examine shop drawings under supervision.
- Maintain a tidy and well-organized workspace to facilitate easy information access for other team members.
- Assist in conducting building systems energy analysis under supervision.
- Support building walkthroughs and surveys.
Staff Mechanical Designer (MEP) Requirements
- Associate's degree in Mechanical Technology from an accredited institution.
- At least 2 years of proven experience in design work.
- Familiarity with relevant design codes and strong proficiency in CAD and Revit software.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with diverse individuals, follow verbal and written instructions, and respond to inquiries.
- Proficiency in operating computers and standard office equipment.
- Capability to navigate the workspace and travel to various job sites as necessary.
