General Job Function
RedZone Robotics is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for an exciting new program in wastewater system assessment. We are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineer who wants to make a significant impact in supporting, developing, and deploying bleeding edge assessment technology. We are looking for a dynamic Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible for design, implementation, and support of complex industrial electrical systems/robots.
The successful candidate will evidence a passion for delivering adaptive and creative solutions to industry specific challenges by staying up to date with best practices and emerging trends in mechanical/electro-mechanical design. This individual will thrive in an environment that requires strong problem-solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. The ideal candidate will be able to advocate for system improvements to company leadership and work closely with the Engineering teams to address issues before they reach our valued customers. They will also have experience in a fast-paced and innovative environment where needs and requirements can change rapidly.
Duties and Responsibilities (in order of priority)
• Designing, maintaining, implementing, improving mechanical components, equipment products or systems for RedZone specific applications
• Performing a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design
• Ensuring that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing mechanical system specifications, technical drawings, or system maps
• Help to establish and implement standards and specifications
• Maintaining mechanical equipment
• Working with a variety of technicians on a day-to-day basis
Education and Qualifications
Education Level (Degree, Area of Study) – Minimum Requirement:
Bachelor's degree, with a major in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study.
Years of Experience (if applicable):
5+ years' experience or demonstrated expertise in field

• Experience with designing robotic or electro-mechanical systems
• Knowledge of Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) systems and/or Product Data Management (PDM) systems is a plus
• Knowledge of CAD or related software
• Knowledge of computer simulation is a plus
• Design for manufacturing - including but not limited to CNC, injection molding, 3D printing, CAD, and Material Science
• Ability and willingness to provide support for legacy systems (50/50)
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal), ability to deliver message concisely and effectively
• Strong propensity to listen and ask the right questions of customers and the organization.
• Ability to build and maintain interpersonal relationships, and influence at all levels of an organization
• Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time
• Ability to proactively reach outside the primary area of responsibility to solve conflicts or issues
• Capability to partner with company's leaders to understand & drive overall cross-functional and business needs
• Learn quickly, adapt easily to changing technology/circumstances, and apply change management skills appropriately
• The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
