Mechanical Engineer
Saint Paul, MN | Direct-Hire | $60,000-$75,000 | Hybrid
Our client is looking for a driven Mechanical Engineer to join their team. In this role, you’ll be a crucial part of the design and fabrication process, developing customized mechanical systems and equipment that meet our clients’ specifications.
Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities
- Develop and refine detailed 2D and 3D designs using SolidWorks, creating effective steel fabrications and mechanical components.
- Choose and integrate process control instruments, ensuring systems operate seamlessly to meet project requirements.
- Embrace a manufacturing-first mindset, designing with practicality and manufacturability in mind.
- Work alongside senior engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver systems that satisfy both standard and customer-specific requirements.
- Produce detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) and collaborate with sales and suppliers to streamline the procurement and production processes.
- Conduct on-site measurements in partnership with sales, ensuring accuracy in product design and functionality.
- Actively participate in troubleshooting, working directly with the production team to address any issues that arise during assembly or fabrication.
Mechanical Engineer Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 1-2+ years of SolidWorks experience, preferably in an engineering or custom fabrication setting.
- Familiarity with sheet metal design, weldments, material handling equipment, and basic knowledge of hydraulics or PLC systems is a plus.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience, ideally within a custom fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, sales, and shop-floor teams.
