Now we are quickly becoming a recognized leader in automation solutions for industrial applications, logistics and warehouses. A brief portfolio of images with short descriptions of recent work is highly recommended via either web-link or PDF.Day to day activities:Receives objective based assignments, and determines resources to meet schedules and goalsProvides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policiesCollaborates with other managers and engineers on hard design problems, works across disciplines to understand failure modes and design tests to validate design performance objectivesOversees the sustaining engineering of existing robotics productsTroubleshoots issues, performs failure root cause analysis, designs and implements corrective and preventative actionsOversees and often does the design and release of components and systems using CATIAOversees the development of production and support documentation including bills of material (BoMs), assembly drawings, and maintenance instructions.Works with manufacturing, suppliers, machinists, contract manufacturers, and logistics to guarantee that the right electromechanical systems are assembled and are functional in the right place at the right time.Plans and and/or performs verification and validation activities on prototype and production systems.Oversees and/or performs system design analyses, including reliability, design-for-manufacture, design-for-assembly, cost-takeout, etc.Desired skills:BSME and minimum 6 years of relevant experience (including MSME/PhD degrees with professional engineering experience)Minimum 2 years of experience leading a team of engineers in a professional and product driven environmentAdvanced CATIA user or equivalent (NX, Solidworks, etc.), including finite element analysis, 2D drawings, simulations,Familiarity with PLM systems, (Arena preferred), and ECO processExperience designing motion control systems with sensors, actuators and complex mechanismsExperience designing systems that are used in industrial settingsA working knowledge of ASME drafting standards including GD&T, (Y14.5-2018)A working knowledge of DFM/A and statistical tolerance analysisA working knowledge of structured problem solving methods including 8D and Ishikawa diagrams, (fishbone), and Six SigmaA working knowledge of failure avoidance methods including DFMEA/PFMEA and fault tree analysisHigh level of technical writing proficiency (specs, test plans, reports, white papers, etc.)SummaryLocation: Waltham Office (POST)Type: Full time
