Mechanical Technician – Marathon Pipe Line Company – BANGL System

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Mechanical Technician position is for the Southeastern portion of the BANGL Pipe Line that runs from Upton County, TX to Cotulla, TX. This position works in and around NGLs executing Operations & Logistics for Marathon Pipe Line. The successful candidate will perform such duties as: repairing and maintaining API 6D valves, centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, tank equipment and meters. The successful candidate should have the ability to trouble shoot problems and work independently while working in a team environment.  All duties will be completed in accordance with all regulations in support of DOT, Environmental, Safety, and Regulatory compliance. Travel, callouts, and overtime will be required on an as-needed basis. 

The successful candidate will be required to live within 45 minutes of the reporting location. Possible reporting location include: Midland, TX or Benedum, TX

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform routine maintenance activities including but not limited to the following tasks:
• Vibrating monitoring and analysis
• Inspect, install, and maintain major / minor relief valves
• Complex pump alignment
• Lubricant changes
• Install / repair stainless steel tubing
• DOT mainline inspections
• Flange bolting and assembly
• Valve actuator maintenance
• Maintaining bi-directional provers
• Coordinate and communicate maintenance activities.
• Responding to breakdown and field callouts as part of rotational on-call support.
• Generate computerized work requests for maintenance tasks.
• Perform work in a safe and environmentally conscious manner in accordance with all Environmental, Safety and Regulatory requirements.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills.
• Previous pipeline experience is highly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required
• Must be able to pass a general background check as well as a Motor Vehicle Background check.
