About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Medical-Surgical **Job Duration:** 13 Weeks **Shift:** Night Shift - 3x12 hour shifts with weekends (every other weekend) and holidays as needed **Guaranteed Hours:** TBD **Experience:** 2 years required **License:** Active RN License **Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required; Epic experience required **Must-Have:** - Experience caring for COVID-19 patients - Full COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption **Job Description:** - Join the Nursing Float Pool and provide coverage across all Medical-Surgical units as needed. - Provide direct and individualized nursing care to a variety of patients, including those pre- and post-surgery. - Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. - Prepare and administer medications orally, subcutaneously, or through an IV, and meticulously document all administration. - Educate patients on surgical procedures and post-treatment home care needs. - Monitor specialized equipment, interpret electronic displays, and take corrective actions if adverse symptoms arise. - Provide bedside care and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by physicians. - Manage dressings, catheters, and IVs effectively. - Participate in discharge planning and utilize time management skills efficiently. - Document all care information promptly, accurately, and completely, using the appropriate format and forms. - Respond to life-saving situations following nursing standards and protocols. - Perform additional duties as assigned, based on the assignment setting. Additional Requirements: - Facility does not allow nicotine use. - Candidates must have a clean license history. - Compliance with seasonal influenza vaccine requirements.
