**Job Title:** RN - Acute Care Float Nights **Job Specialty:** Registered Nurse / Licensed - Inpatient **Job Duration:** 13 months **Shift:** Night **Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified **Experience:** Less than 1 year; completion of an accredited/approved school of nursing with required clinical hours. Direct patient care experience preferred. **License:** Registered Nurse (Single State) or Multi-state Compact **Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) **Must-Have:** - Ability to read, write, and speak English - Basic computer skills - Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills - Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies decisively and respectfully - Excellent time management and critical thinking skills **Job Description:** - Be a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers to ensure patients, families, and significant others receive personalized, high-quality, safe patient care. - Practice in a clinical environment administered by nurse managers and supported through a shared governance model. - Perform the nursing process, using evidence-based practice, and ensure individualized patient care, coordinating care through effective partnerships. - Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care considering population-specific characteristics and cultural diversity. - Use a variety of methods to engage with patients and significant others, focusing on patient goals in the care plan. - Coordinate the delivery and documentation of quality patient care, utilizing diverse communication methods and fostering an inclusive clinical environment. - Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration by supporting fiscally responsible practices and promoting the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members. - Engage in performance improvement activities, supporting nursing research and evidence-based practice. - Participate in ongoing professional competency assessments, required education, and act as a mentor or preceptor. - Plan proactively for patient care across the continuum, collaborating with healthcare teams to develop protocols and procedures for best practice outcomes. - Support efficient use of resources, uphold policies and procedures, and contribute to patient safety goals.
