Sanctuary Treatment Center is a Substance Use Treatment center in the San Fernando Valley California, that's dedicated to helping clients rise above their past trauma and addictions into happier, healthier lives. We are currently looking for Med Techs to join our team!The Medication Technician is responsible for providing mental health care services via observation of medication self-administration and on-going consultation under the supervision and direction of the Licensed Vocational Nurse. The Medication Technician assists the licensed nurse in maintaining facility medication records, client medical records, preparing medications for self-administration, and client medication inventory.AVAILABILITY, we are currently looking for:Full TimePM and Overnight ShiftsMust be available weekends and holidays.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate appropriate boundaries with clientsObserves medication proceduresAssist clients in maintenance of prescribed medicationDemonstrate effective crisis interventionProvide information (verbally and in the communication log) to staff during shift transitionIdentify, prioritize, and resolve problems accurately and efficientlyAssists the LVN in maintaining facility and client-specific medication records and inventoryAssists the LVN by documenting client medical recordsComplete medication error and adverse drug reaction investigation, documentation, and reporting to nursing staffOther duties as assignedQualificationsAt least 18 years of age.High School graduate or possess a GED. Coursework in counseling, psychology, or social work, or in school working towards a healthcare degree.Experience working with substance use/mental health preferred.Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (MA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Medication Technician certification or nursing coursework preferred.One year experience as a Medication Technician or Resident Aid engaging in medication observation preferred.Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player. Excellent communication skills both oral and writtenValid driver's license, clean driving record and personal automobile insurance.BenefitsSanctuary Treatment Center offers competitive salaries for all positions.
