SPE IT Content Platform Technology Media Supply Chain Technologies Business Analyst
Company Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst with expertise in media supply chains to join our IT team and drive the optimization of our content workflows.
Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) IT Content Platform Technology team provides implementation, development and operational support of content related systems across SPE.
The Content Platform Technology team directly supports SPE DCS (Distribution & Content Services) organization. DCS is at the heart of content operations for the studio.
The Business Analyst is part of the IT Content Platform Technology team and will support the DCS content supply chain initiatives by translating product needs and requirements into deliverable units of work Epics/Features/Stories. They will work with the Product Team and SPE business stakeholders and contributors to ensure the end-product meets business requirements.
Responsibilities :
Working with the relevant DCS Product Owner to understand, elicit, analyze, document and communicating program and platform/application requirements.
Analyze current media content supply chain processes, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Translate captured application and business requirements into functional specifications and user stories for development teams.
Supporting the Product Owner to engage stakeholders throughout sprint cycle to ensure the Product Team is receiving necessary inputs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, DCS, DCS technical operations, and creative departments, to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) and coordinate with QA teams to validate solutions against business requirements and deliver overall story acceptance.
Develop and maintain documentation, including story, process flows, data models, and standard operating procedures, using Lucidchart and MovieLabs visual language
Conduct data analysis using SQL to derive insights and support data-driven decision-making.
Up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in media content supply chain management.
Facilitate workshops, meetings, and training sessions to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years experience at a major film & television studio, post-production or content localization & fulfilment vendor with hands-on experience of the digital media supply chain. At least 3 years of business analysis experience in the same field.
Deep knowledge of post-production processes, or deep understanding of media systems and the supply chain workflows they support.
Proven experience in requirements gathering, documentation, and user story creation using techniques such as interviews, workshops, and surveys.
Understanding of:
The ideal candidate should be able to provide instances where they have successfully applied this knowledge in their previous roles.
Experience with data analysis and SQL querying skills is a bonus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with the workflow management tool, Jira, is a plus.

- Core media processing techniques; transcoding, packaging, IMF/DCP mastering
- Color workflows; SDR, HDR, derivation of SDR content from HDR
- Audio workflows; including processes for creating 5.1 and Dolby Atmos outputs
- Media formats, codecs, and delivery specifications (e.g., IMF, ProRes, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos),
- Localization workflows and deliverable assets, SMPTE-TT, IMSC, SCC, LambdaCap
- Task management concepts, Avails and rights management integrations
