Overview:
Location: Breakthrough Care Clinic Aurora; May require some travel to surrounding clinics: Lisle or Wheaton
Hours: Full Time/ Mon through Friday 8-430PM except Tuesdays 10-630PM. No Weekends
Responsibilities:
- Collaboration with medical team: CMA to communicate needs to the physician and RN with mindset focused on resolving problems for patients and achieving team goals
- Processes patient phone messages, returning calls and routing them to other team members as appropriate; calls patients to obtain and relay pertinent information for the physician.
- Greet patients and assist with scheduling follow ups, measuring vital signs and collecting health history
- Provide support to physicians during examinations, minor office surgeries, dressing changes and other first aid procedures
- Certified medical assistants assist with immunizations or injections
- Assist patients with prescription requests, address pharmacy callbacks, provider orders, update charting and filing
- Conduct onsite lab testing to include: EKG, pulmonary function, blood glucose and urine pregnancy tests
- Maintains clean, warm and inviting examination rooms for patient visits
- Provide excellent customer service exemplifying Duly Health and Care CARE values
- Ability and willingness to travel locally and/or regionally up to 10% of the time to assist in covering other centers, as needed (Lisle or Wheaton)
- Provides outreach calls to a defined group of patients to support healthy lifestyle choices. Follows up with patients via phone calls
- Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow

- Provide support to physicians during examinations, minor office surgeries, dressing changes and other first aid procedures

- Some travel to assist other local clinics may be required
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of Medical Assistant educational program or higher education courses in health sciences or related experience required
- Several of our clinical specialties including Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Family Practice, require active medical assistant certification through one of the following:
- American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- CPR certification or willing to become certified upon hire required
- May require phlebotomy certification to be completed within 90 days of hire
- Prior experience working as an MA, CMA, CNA, EMT or 2 years of prior experience working in a medical office assisting with patient care
