What this role will look like:
- Prepare the room for examinations, testing, and procedures
- Prepare and assist with intrauterine inseminations (IUI), pap smears, cultures, biopsies, etc.
- Take and document patients’ vital signs
- Draw blood per physicians’ order
- Log all outgoing and incoming laboratory results
- Set up and confirm stock of blood draw stations
- Track, confirm, and order medical supplies for the offices
- Maintain equipment (i.e. mark temperature, humidity, refrigeration levels, etc.)
- Clean and maintain instruments and equipment per the protocol and according to OSHA guidelines
- Retrieve and follow up on messages for clinical and phlebotomy staff
- Assist in maintaining medical records and patient histories
- Prepare charts for following-day appointments
- Assist physicians as surgical technicians during procedures
- Assist in reviewing charts and obtaining lab results
- Set up trays for following-day procedures
- Adhere to Operating Room Sanitation Policy and Procedures, confine and contains waste disposal and prepare instruments for decontamination
- Control the surgical environment according to OSHA policy and procedure
- Assist with providing care for patients during the entire procedure (pre, intra and post)
- Communicate ongoing patient care needs with nursing staff/physicians
- Operate specialty equipment per manufacturer's recommendations and/or policy and procedure
- Responsible for determining that appropriate paperwork has been received for patient treatment
- Review lab results with patients under the direction of a provider
- Triage phone calls
- Help with front desk duties as needed
- Receive payment for visits
You will be a great fit for us if you have:
- 2-3 years of experience in a fast-paced medical environment required
- Experience in women’s health or assisted reproduction is a plus
- Bi-lingual a plus
- Compassionate when stressed
- Comfortable drawing blood as requested
- Comfortable with moving quickly
- Motivated self-starter
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Able to meet deadlines
- Able to follow up with patients in a clear, concise, professional, and compassionate manner both in person and over the phone
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as assigned
