Medical Assistant (Per Diem) - Latham Dermatology

Our busy dermatology practice is seeking a per diem Medical Assistant to join our team!

Duties: 

• ‪Escort patients to exam rooms
• Assist Physician with exams and procedures, administering medications, and performing tests
• Assist patients with questions about medications and wound care
• File charts; ensure all related reports, labs and information are available in patients’ medical records prior to their appointment
• Take telephone messages; provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls
• Process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians
• Clean and restock examination rooms
• Sterilize instruments

Qualifications: 

• Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
• Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
• Excellent computer skills

Job Type:

• Per Diem: Monday - Friday 

Experience:

• 1+ year(s) of Medical Assistant experience (Required)
• Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA, and OSHA regulation (Required)
• EMR experience (Required)
• Dermatology experience (Preferred)
• Front desk experience (Preferred)

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Bachelor’s degree (Preferred)

Certifications/Licenses:

• Medical Assisting (Preferred)

Pay:

• Pay starts at $20.00 per hour and increases with years of experience
