This position is full-time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 6:00am – 3:30pm CST. It may be necessary, given
the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Travel within the service area to perform medical record reviews as needed
- Conduct research in order to define suspects
- Perform chart reviews based on suspects to recover diagnoses not coded
- Evaluate and communicate documentation and coding deficiencies in provider records
- Conduct chart reviews to validate data accepted by CMS
- Maintain professional relationships with physicians and/or staff
- Maintain work calendars and comply with all internal processes
- Understand and keep up to date with Risk Adjustment and ICD-10-CM Guidelines
- Set priorities for own work assignments and uses initiative in completion of tasks
- Participate in auditing projects as assigned
- Assist in training new members of the coding team
- Assist in special projects as directed
- Perform any other tasks as requested by the Director or Managers

Years of post-high school education can be substituted/is equivalent to years of experience.
Required Qualifications:
- Coding Certification (CPC)
- 3+ years of experience working in Medical Coding
- Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word (create correspondence & work within templates), Microsoft Excel (ability to sort, filter & create simple spreadsheets), Outlook (ability to retrieve emails, access calendar & schedule meetings)
- Ability to work full-time between 6:00am - 3:30pm CST including the flexibility to work occasional overtime given the business need
Preferred Qualification:
- Coding Certification (CCS-P)

- Proven ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Lives in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Nevada Residents Only: The hourly range for Nevada residents is $18.80 to $36.78 per hour.
