We are seeking a dedicated Medical Director to join our team at a correctional facility in Bridgeton, New Jersey. Job Details
- Location: Bridgeton, New Jersey
- Hours Per Week: 20-24 hours
- Shift: 8 Hour Days, 3 shifts per week
- Duration: 13-week contract with potential for extension
- Hourly Pay: $225-275/HR
Job Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of a US-based residency program
- Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in New Jersey
- At least two years of experience in public health, emergency, or family practice
- Previous correctional healthcare experience preferred
- Active Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification
- Unrestricted and valid prescriptive authority with DEA, DEA-X, and CDS
- Excellent critical thinking and assessment skills
- Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to command the respect and confidence of inmates and staff
Responsibilities
- Oversee the provision of medical services to inmate patients
- Manage and evaluate medical program activities
- Collaborate with subspecialists and hospital providers
- Ensure continuous quality control of health services
- Function as a liaison between correctional officials, public agencies, and the healthcare team
- Supervise clinical services and ensure effective patient care delivery
- Participate in quality improvement activities and policy evaluations
- Provide emergency treatment and respond to urgent situations
- Perform routine physical examinations and document findings
- Participate in the annual review and approval of clinical guidelines and protocols
- Supervise the development and application of policies, procedures, and protocols
- Conduct "Doctor Sick Call" to examine and treat inmate patients
- Supervise clinical service treatments, medications, and other treatments
- Monitor referrals to outside healthcare facilities for appropriateness and continuity of care
