About the Job
Sante Health System is looking for a full time, Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our medical office team at Central Valley Women's Health Associates (CVWHA), in the Fresno, CA area. This position is responsible for answering phones and transferring calls to the appropriate departments. This position will also greet, instruct and schedule patients, visitors and update patient information.
REQUIREMENTS
- Formal training which will be indicated by one year of work experience in a medical office setting; knowledge of computer and business office procedures; pleasant attitude; ability to establish and maintain effective relationship with patients, employees and the public.
- Physical guidelines include articulate speech; ability to sit for up to eight hours per day; manual dexterity; visual and auditory acuity; reach; lift/move materials weighing up to 30 pounds. The employee must be able to view and type on computer screens for long periods.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of business office procedures.
- Knowledge of managed care products such as HMO's and PPO's.
- Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation to type patient information.
- Skill in operating a computer and photocopy machine.
- Skill in greeting patients and answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner.
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely.
- Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to sort and file materials correctly and in alphabetical or numeric systems.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet patients and callers in a congenial and professional manner; screen and respond to routine request for information.
- Identify caller and determine reason for the telephone call.
- Direct caller to the appropriate person or place.
- Coordinate and reschedule patients appointments.
- Check patients in.
- Inquire about any new patient information (change of address, telephone, new insurance, etc.).
- Scan new insurance card.
- Help patient complete necessary forms.
- Put new information into computer.
- Prepares cashier drawers with specified opening balance of currency and coins.
- Receives and post payments and co-pays from patients and issues receipts as required.
- Runs reports as required to balance charges and payments.
- Prepares deposit for the day if required.
- Management of Reports.
- Zero EOB's from Capitation Report.
- MCMP yearly project of tracking patients per the standards of Medicare.
- Tracking Santes' Pay for Performance.
- Coverage for physician receptionist area as needed.
- Attends meetings and in-service as required.
- Maintains records in a confidential manner.
- Comply with all work rules including those pertaining to safety and health.
- Perform related work as required; perform other duties and assigned by the Administrator.
- In the spirit of teamwork, employees are expected to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties as requested.
