Position Description
Reporting to the Director of Maternal Child Health, the Medical Interpreter will interpret and translate medical information to patients primarily in the perinatal period (i.e., pregnant or recently pregnant) who speak Spanish. The Medical Interpreter will collaborate with the Maternal Child Health care team which includes family physicians, nurse practitioners, physician’s assistants, nurses, behavioral health clinicians, medical assistants, medical receptionists, community health workers, and managers, in providing quality care to patients who want to become pregnant, are pregnant, or who recently were pregnant, and their children. This position is grant-funded and may be time-limited depending on grant funding renewals.What are we looking for?
- Must have a High School Diploma, GED or higher, and three letters of recommendation.
- Must have medical interpreter certification.
- Spanish speaking highly preferred
- Must have one year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Lived experience and/or experience working with the patient populations is highly desired.
