Schedule: 1st shift day shift hours vary 9-5:30 OR 8-4:30 PM Mon-Friday 1 week Tuesday- Saturday the following week

BS of Chemistry or Biology [1 year of previous experience is required with BS in Chem or Bio], BSMT, MLS or MLT
Generalist [coah. hem. UA etc] is acceptable but will be supporting Hematology lab dept.
ASCP or AMT is NOT required but preferred.
ASCP or AMT is NOT required but preferred.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsibilities are interchangeable within job titles of medical laboratory scientist (MLS), medical technologist or clinical laboratory scientist.
Work environment/department will be listed in requirement.
Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria. Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
Assist with processing of specimens when needed. Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus. High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills. Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen. Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements. Minimum 0-2 years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required
N ORDER FOR CANDIDATES TO QUALIFY THEY MUST MEET THE CLIA STANDARDS FOR TESTING PERSONNEL: [Candidates must posses at least 1 of the below]
-Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science
OR
-BS in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science from an acredited college or university WITH atleast 1 year of training or experience in specialty in
which testing will be performed. Such training must be equivalent to that received in a school of Medical Technology.
OR
-90 Semester hours from an accredited institution that include the following: 16 semester hours of Biology courses, 16 Semester ours of chemistry [must include atleast 6 hours of inorganic Chemistry], and 3 Semester hours of Math- along with having completed an accredited Clinical Laboratory training program or 1 year of documented Clinical Laboratory Training, or experience in the specialty that testing is to be performed.
OR
-Associates Degree in Medical Technology

OR
