Hours/Shifts: Full Time Hours
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage active and discharged medical records following established protocols
- Notify staff of incomplete records through the delinquency/deficiency system or quality improvement processes
- Assist with recording incidents/accidents and maintain files in line with policies
- Retrieve and deliver resident records as needed (manual/electronic)
- Collect, organize, check, and file resident charts
- Conduct regular reviews of medical records for quality, accuracy, and completeness
- Safeguard records from loss, destruction, or unauthorized access
- Respond to requests for medical record copies, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws
- Assist in preparing for and participating in regulatory compliance surveys
Job Requirements:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in computers, data retrieval, input, and output functions
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and legal aspects of health information
- At least one (1) year of experience in Medical Records/Central Supply
- Familiarity with accreditation standards and compliance regulations
