- JOB SUMMARY
- A Medical Scribe is essentially a personal assistant to the physician; performing the documentation in the Electronic Health Record, gathering information for the patients visit, and partnering with the physician to deliver efficient patient care.
- DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties:
- Document accurately and thoroughly medical visits and procedures as they are being performed with the physician presence the dictated patient history, physician examination, family, social, and past medical histories as well as document procedures, lab results, prepare referral letters as directed by the physician and any other information pertaining to the patients encounter.
- EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum requirement:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must type 45cwpm
- Must Pass Medical Terminology test
- Preferred qualifications:

- WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Works indoors in an office/clinic setting
- The noise level is usually moderate
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Constantly required to maintain a stationary position behind a computer.
- Frequently required to move about inside the department.
- Constantly required to communicate telephonically and face to face with colleagues and customers.
- Constantly required to operate a computer and telephone.
- Constantly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
