Position Responsibilities:
- Following the physician into the exam room and documenting the patient's exam, physician's interpretations, and treatment plans in an accurate and efficient manner
- Typing physician's notes from patient exams into the patient's electronic medical record
- Entering the patient's medical history in the electronic medical record post exam
- Preparing the patient's records for the next office visit
- Helping the clinic team with any additional duties that may be necessary while in clinic
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations
Requirements:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Previous medical scribe or medical assisting experience is preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with physicians and staff
- Strong active listening and typing skills
- Knowledge of personal computer applications and Electronic Medical Record
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
- The ability to travel between ORA's Illinois and Iowa clinic locations as scheduled is required
