MEDICATIONASSISTANT

This position is either full or parttime and includes being responsiblefor the care of our residents, which can be hands-on and/or stand-by assistanceas needed. At Highgate, providing caremeans to provide for the whole person, providing physical assistance withactivities of daily living and emotional, psychological, and soulful support.
The best candidate may have current caregiving credentials, be anorganized and detail-oriented individual with a positive and self-motivatedattitude. Experience in passing medications will be preferred and we arewilling to provide the required training to become certified to pass meds forthe right candidate. You must have strongcommunication and critical thinking abilities as interacting with seniors whileproviding care requires both abilities. SKILLS NEEDED:
- Good customer service skills, theability to intuit, and problem solve
- Patience, level headedness, andcompassion
- Computer skills or the ability tolearn new software
- Ability to pivot, change direction andaccomplish tasks with innovative approaches
- Detail orientation, demonstratedfollow up and documentation abilities
- Strong capability to focus on a taskduring periods of distraction
- Ability to take feedback andincorporate it into your efforts
- An understanding of what it takes toprovide care to residents that need physical and/or cognitive support
- Comfortable to adapt quickly to thechanging needs of an older adult
- An understanding or the willingness togain an understanding of the various forms of dementia and how residents withdementia can continue live with purpose
RELATABLE EXPERIENCE:
- Prior experience working in an assisted living community or memory care community as a Certified Medication Assistant or other role
- Jobs or volunteer assignments that have given you opportunities to provide care for someone or were detail oriented in nature
- Other hospitality or healthcare related experience
- Experience in customer service
- Roles in which you have been amulti-tasker
- Opportunities from your past whereyou have demonstrated kindness, patience, and compassion to varying groups andindividuals
- Volunteer work involving vulnerablegroups
QUALIFICATIONS:
1- At least 18 years of age
2- Ability to obtain CPR & First AidCertification
3- Current negative TB test
4- Possess the ability to sit, stand, bend,and move continuously during work hours
5- Ability to carry or transfer up to 25lbswith assistance
6- Ability to pass criminal record/backgroundcheck
7- Be efficient and exercise good timemanagement skills
8- Must be able to work wellindependently with little oversight
9- Must have a track record of top-notchorganizational abilities and communication skills
10- Willing to attend and incorporate intoyour work efforts different types of training

Ourcompensation package will be flexible for this role based on the credentialing,tenure and skill sets each candidate brings for consideration. The hourly wage range for this position is $17.00to $23.00 per hour. Prior experience workingwith seniors is a plus.
