About the Job
Wage Range- $21.75 to $30.38/hour
Shift- EVE 2 pm to 10 pm
NOC shift stipend available, $1.25/hour
Under general Nursing supervision, the Certified Medication Technician works 100% of their time on this position functions and evaluates the medical and emergency needs of residents in Assisted Living, Personal Care, Memory Care and Residential Living environments and identifies and monitors current health problems of residents. Also provides services to promote and maintain the health and safety of the residents.
Work Duties
- Assists resident with prescribed medications and maintains related medical records under supervision of the qualified nurse supervisor;
- Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records name of drug, dosage, route, and time of administration on specified forms or records;
- Presents medication to resident and observes ingestion or other application, or administers medication, using specified procedures according to the local state guidelines;
- Ensures safe, accurate assistance with resident medication, including physician order verification, interaction with pharmacies, checking medications for accuracy/correctness;
- Review and complete the Medication Administration Record (MAR) to record the physician orders and medications;
- Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered;
- Will ensure assistance of resident’s medication in a timely manner as prescribed by physician’s orders;
To be successful in the role, you would have:
- Certified Nursing Assistant certificate
- Certified Medication Tech training
- Prior CNA or caregiving experience required
