Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledgeable of local, state, and federal regulatory systems for memory care communities.
Interpersonal skills to communicate with residents, families, physicians, emergency personnel, and unit staff, internal and external customers.
Demonstrates skills necessary to work effectively with individuals with dementia.
Dedicated to excellence in resident care, is compassionate and genuinely cares.
Knowledgeable of conflict and complaint resolution and the skills to implement.
Ability to provide assessments for potential and current residents to ensure appropriate placement for their current level of care.
Ability to identify concerns and strengths of the program.
Ability to teach staff and conduct in service training.

Possess relationship management skills and maintain a customer focus treating others with respect and integrity.

Ability to read and interpret company policy and procedure manuals, operations manuals and governmental rules and regulations.
Ability to perform budget analysis, review and control.
Knowledgeable of the disease process, changes associated with a dementing illness and how they affect an individuals ability to function.
Must maintain a current drivers license and comply with all requirements of our Auto Policy.

Education/Experience
Education: Current Certification or Licensure according to state guidelines.
Experience: Previous experience caring for persons with dementia. Prior leadership experience in a specialized dementia program and experience with program facilitation and activity program development is preferred, but not required.
Working Environment/Physical Requirements
Moderate physical activity required to handle objects up to 20 pounds. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach and handle bulky objects. Must be able to assist in lifting residents in excess of 100 pounds. This position requires being on call 24 hours a day and responding to emergencies in a timely manner.
