ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW:
Face to Face Health and Counseling is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing economic and health equity for youth ages 11–24. We do this work through a comprehensive approach that includes housing, mental health, medical, youth justice, education & employment, and community services. We take a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to our work and center the needs of young people impacted by racism and other forms of oppression and marginalization. Founded in 1972, Face to Face serves more than 3,000 youth annually.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Mental Health Manager at Face to Face is responsible for managing all mental health programming, including our outpatient, mental health case management, and shelter-linked mental health programs. This position oversees the mental health team and is responsible for ensuring Face to Face provides effective mental health programming to youth in compliance with our operating principles and all external regulations. The Mental Health Manager also provides clinical supervision for the mental health supervisors and others on the team. The Mental Health Manager will provide direct therapy service to 3-4 clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Leadership:
- Provide leadership and administrative oversight of daily department functions.
- The Mental Health Manager will be responsible for directly supervising the Mental Health Clinical Supervisor, Mental Health Internship Coordinator, and Mental Health Care Coordinator.
- Develop and implement systems and policies to increase efficiency, increase access for clients, clinician productivity, and foster cross-team collaboration.
- Ensure that barriers to services for clients are reduced or eliminated.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels on all teams to provide excellent service to clients.
- Monitor billable hours and maximize revenue to sustain services.
- Ensure that all mental health services meet the highest standards of care to ensure health equity for all clients.
- Provide leadership regarding strategic direction and integration of program services in collaboration with other organization leaders
- Develop relationships and partnerships with other community service providers
- Monitor written documentation of client care to ensure accurate records, compliance with best practices and legal requirements, and timely billing
Staff Management and Leadership:
- Attract, empower, train, and supervise a diverse staff to provide culturally competent, trauma-informed mental health care
- Work with Mental Health Clinical supervisor to supervise client caseloads and productivity for mental health team
- Provide performance evaluation for assigned staff, including goal setting, professional development, performance improvement, and assessment of training needs
- Identify and resolve staffing problems and conflicts
Financial and Grant Management:
- Work with the development department to develop grant funding proposals and reports
- Oversee implementation of all mental health department grants including budget management, work plan implementation, data collection, and reporting
- Work with Director of Finance to develop and manage the annual clinic budget, including contributing to revenue predictions and managing expenses
- Monitor the financial performance of the mental health program by monitoring patient charges, assessing appropriate coding of visits, tracking expenses and inventory, and monitoring client insurance rates
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure staff maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, agency policies and other applicable laws, regulations and ethical standards
- Ensure ongoing monitoring and compliance with all regulations and legislation related to mental health programming
- Maintain current knowledge of professional licensing and scope of practice requirements for staff, ensuring that staff maintain required licenses and credentials
- Keep up-to-date with DHS billing and treatment changes
- Keep up-to-date with current changes in the field through the use of supervision, appropriate conferences, training, in-services and reading
- Provide leadership and follow up around client incidents and grievances
- Oversee appropriate actions related to safety and emergency preparedness
Other:
- Ensure all services are provided guided by the evidence-based principles for helping youth overcome homelessness
- Serve as a member of the agency Leadership Team
- Perform other tasks or projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed as LMFT, LICSW or LPCC in state of MN
- MN Board approved supervisor
- Experience in supervision with strong people management and teamwork skills to effectively work through conflict, lead change, and motivate staff
- Ability to think strategically about the organization, its mission, and operations
- Program development, strategic planning, and system-based organization skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate schedules, and manage details
- Attention to detail with consistent focus on the bigger picture
- Exceptional problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexible and adaptable to a fluid work environment
- Ability to work independently, use time effectively, work under stress and intervene appropriately in crisis situations

PAY & BENEFITS:
The pay rate for this position is between $80,000 and $87,500, based on qualifications.
