What You'll Do:
This position is responsible for delivering a range of therapeutic services, including individual therapy, group counseling, life skills sessions, clinical interventions, crisis management, and family therapy. The Mental Health Therapist also assists in case management and supports the development of robust support systems for individuals.
- Psychosocial Assessment:
- Conduct thorough, accurate, and clinically sound psychosocial assessments in a timely manner. Maintain comprehensive clinical records, including documentation of all activities performed as part of the service delivery process. Obtain signatures from individuals as necessary for treatment agreements.
- Internal Education and Training:
- Provide internal education on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, harm reduction strategies, and service plan documentation to enhance the clinical skills of the team.
- Clinical Documentation:
- Prepare clinical reports and individualized service plans using the agency's electronic clinical documentation software. Ensure that all documentation complies with best clinical practices, contracts, regulatory standards, and legal requirements.
- Therapeutic Interventions:
- Conduct brief interventions, individual therapy, family therapy, and group counseling within the scope of practice. Participate in redirecting individual behavior and maintaining a safe environment when necessary. Accurately document all services and individual activities.
- Referral and Placement:
- Arrange for the referral and placement of individuals in other community-based programs, including substance abuse treatment, housing, or employment opportunities, as appropriate.
- Case Management and Crisis Intervention:
- Provide case management services that promote recovery and community reintegration. Conduct crisis interventions and follow-up care as necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals.
- Collaboration and Follow-Up:
- Collaborate with appropriate leadership regarding case progress on a weekly basis, ensuring continuity of care and adherence to treatment goals.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform all other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall therapeutic environment and success of the treatment program.
Qualifications
What You'll Bring:
- Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field
- Unrestricted license as Licensed Mental Health Professional in Pennsylvania (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, CAADC)
- 3 years of experience in mental health, substance abuse treatment or relevant work.
- Knowledge of principles of recovery, family of origin/intergenerational issues, and co-occurring psychiatric disorders
- Knowledge and experience working with special populations (Those individuals identified as having serious mental illness, substance abuse diagnoses, brain injuries and those over 60 years of age)
- Must be able to perform Safe Clinch patient restraint techniques.
- If working with youth, experience working within the Children’s system of care, their families and stakeholders
- Must pass the following background checks:
- Child Abuse Clearance
- FBI Criminal Background Check
- Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check
- Level 1 Fingerprint clearance card
- The Company has a mandatory vaccination policy. All successful applicants must be fully vaccinated, including showing proper documentation, or otherwise be exempt pursuant to the Company’s exemption process prior to their start date as a condition of employment

The typical hiring range for this position is in Harrisburg, PA is $38.75 - $44.56 per hour. Compensation is based on years of experience, education, and relevant certifications.
