Job Responsibilities:

The following is not a comprehensive or all inclusive list of all job responsibilities, but an illustration of the most common responsibilities for this position

•      Applies and sands Bondo filler to metals to ensure units meet applicable quality standards through the fabrication process

•      Cleans, sands, and scrapes surfaces in preparation for spraying.

•      Mixes materials according to the manufacturer’s technical data sheet for proper application.

•      Repairs composites and metal surfaces.

•      Must be able to feather out Bondo to a smooth finish.

•      Cleaning and maintaining all equipment and booths

•      Operates sanders and various hand tools to rework previously completed materials, remove defects, and satisfy customer requirements.

•      Apply seam sealer to all un-welded areas and prepare Bondo mixtures with hardening compound.

•      Load, unload, and stage pieces in work in process to maintain efficient operations

•      Perform masking of part features per engineering product specifications

•      Perform to established methods and standards; meeting or exceeding the departments quality and productivity goals.

•      Cleaning and maintaining all equipment and workstation

•      Proper use of all safety equipment, such as respirator, dust mask, and all other PPE and able to use safety features of machines.

•      The ability to work as a team, Cooperate & assist other personnel in the repair and prepping of parts.

•      Ability to lift items up to 50lbs.

• Technical Proficiency: Expertise in using hand tools and equipment such as sanders and scrapers, with a strong ability to apply and sand Bondo filler effectively.
• Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to ensure a smooth, flawless finish on metal surfaces, and the ability to follow detailed engineering specifications.
• Material Knowledge: Strong understanding of mixing materials according to technical data sheets and applying seam sealers and hardening compounds accurately.
• Problem-solving Skills: Ability to repair composites and metal surfaces and rework previously completed materials to remove defects and meet quality standards.
• Teamwork and Communication: Ability to work collaboratively with team members, assisting in the repair and preparation of parts to achieve common goals.
• Safety Awareness: Proficient in the use of all safety equipment, including respirators and dust masks, with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Physical Stamina: Capacity to lift items up to 50 lbs and manage physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
