Metallurgist - Element Materials Technology

Element has an opportunity for a Metallurgist whose primary responsibility is to support the laboratory with routine microstructural examinations of aerospace components.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure work compliance to ISO 17025 requirements
• Perform metallographic examinations on various materials to be determine grain size, cleanliness, volume percentage of phases and general microstructure evaluation. Evaluations will be of nickel and titanium aerospace parts
• Coordinate with the clients & third-party witness as to the testing details
• Manage technicians to carry out work as per the planning schedule
• Be willing to assist in other activities from time to time that may be requested by the department manager to assist in the execution Element Technology annual targets and budget

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy or related discipline
• Minimum 4-years experience working in a laboratory in the field of metallurgy testing or equivalent
• Knowledge and experience of safe operation of metallurgical testing equipment and operating in lab and / or industrial environment
• Excellent organizational and team leading skills
• Exceptional communication skills
