Job DescriptionCore Responsibilities
- CMM Operation and Programming (Polyworks):
- Operate CMM machines to measure and inspect BIW components.
- Develop and modify CMM programs to accommodate new parts and changes in design.
- Interpret engineering drawings and CAD models to create accurate measurement plans.
- Quality Inspection:
- Perform detailed inspections of BIW components to ensure they meet specified tolerances and quality standards.
- Analyze measurement data and generate comprehensive inspection reports.
- Identify and document any deviations or non-conformities and collaborate with the production team to address issues.
- Data Analysis and Reporting (PiWeb database)
- Utilize statistical process control (SPC) methods to monitor and analyze measurement data.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on inspection results, including trends and potential quality issues.
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections and measurements.
- Maintenance and Calibration:
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of CMM equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues with CMM machines.
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree or technical certification in metrology, quality control, or a related field preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating and programming CMM machines, preferably in an automotive BIW environment.
- Proficiency in using CMM software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, Polyworks) and CAD software.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
