We are currently seeking a Metrology Technician to support our NAVSEA Carderock customer. This position is contingent upon contract award.
Required Education: A minimum of a high school/vocational degree or GED certificate. A minimum of ten years of experience in metrology related fields. Expertise in 3-Dimensional (3D) computer aided design software (CAD), to include SolidWorks, and be able to model parts from 2D drawings. They shall have demonstrated the ability to read/interpret 2-Dimensional and 3D drawings and specification, and fully interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerance information.
Desired Education: Documented ability to analyze data collected and conduct statistical analysis on the data. Documented ability to conduct calibration verification and secondary calibration of measurement instruments. Ability to capture 3D data using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), portable CMMs, laser trackers, and/or laser scanners; along with manual measurement instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, scales, measuring tapes, pi tapes, thread gauges). Familiarity with ANSI standards and how these standards apply to drawings and tolerances.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
